What you talkin' 'bout, Willis?

I swore to myself that I would never post any unflattering photos of my little girl, but I just had to share this one. The little bruiser weighed in at a whopping 9 lbs., 7 ounces yesterday--nearly 2 lbs. over her birth weight! She is now on 100% formula, and I have come to a place where I am fine with that. Tomorrow we're busting out the size 1 diapers...

I am not convinced that this is an unflattering photo. In fact, I am not at all convinced that there could possibly be an unflattering photo of such a perfect looking baby.

Congratulations on switching to formula...not what you had planned, but what works. And that is way better!

Too funny! No, not unflattering at all -- but funny!

Hey, and i was disappointed that the picture of Chloe picking her nose didn't make it into the newspaper...

I alos think this is way more flattering than unflattering of Natalie. She is just so darn cute.

and congratulations on switiching to formula and feeling at peace with what is best for you and Natalie. I think doing waht works best for you is the right choice.

Put me on the "not unflattering" train as well - she's just too, too cute!

If it's any consolation, I had to start Athena on formula this week. I had a case of mastitis a week and a half ago, and the fevers caused my milk supply to greatly reduce. Athena wasn't getting enough from me (never learned to latch on properly, so has been getting bottles of expressed breast milk pretty much from birth), and lost some weight. She's been on 100% formula for 4 days now, but I'm still pumping breast milk and freezing it in the hope that Plunket will help me to eventually establish breast-feeding. I'm also hoping that my midwife will "allow" me to feed Athena the EBM at some point soon - the formula has more calories, which is why she's getting her feeds from formula. I'd still like to get breast-feeding established, but it is going to take a lot of work to get there.

I can understand why you switched to formula (after all, getting the calories into Natalie is the most important thing), and I understand why you got upset about it. I cried for about half the day on Wednesday when we were told we had to give Athena formula. Sounds silly, but breast-feeding her was (and still is) very important to us.

The photos of Natalie are gorgeous, BTW. The slings are brilliant - we bought one that's made in New Zealand this week, and it's brill - puts Athena to sleep in minutes.
