Please send in your opinions on the best baby food processor on the market. Dex? Magic Bullet? Other? Thanks! (I don't need it yet, but am planning ahead.)

I never used a baby food processor. I didn't even know they existed.LOL! Girl, I used a regular blender and it worked just fine. I have two babies;- a one year old and a two year old,so I've chopped pureed, blended, whipped all types of fresh food . We are from the Caribbean, so I've blended cassava, yams, dasheen, eddoes sweet potatoes, plantains, pumpkin, beef, chicken goat, lamb etc for our babies using our regular Oster Blender. It did the job just fine! And the good thing is because the regular blender is a good size you can make enough food to freeze(in ice trays) for later use.So it's worth a shot to use your existing blender if you already have one.

Peace,
Morgan

My sister-in-law simply uses her regular blender - or even a potato masher if she doesn't want to deal with the blender. Simple and effective.

I never used one at all, just used the cuisinart if i was making a bunch of stuff & freezing, or mashed by hand if it was a small amount...

I agree with everyone else. A normal blender or food processor is fine. It is great for making extra to freeze in little ice cube trays.

out here in fly-over territory, i had no idea there were BABY food processors. i thought that's what my blender and/or food processor were for. i feel like a hick.

on a separate, baby-consumer-goods-related note, where did you find that groovy doll? what kind is it? please e-mail me everything! i want a soft, baby-friendly but not absurdly frilly doll for milo and keep striking out. :(

Okay, so can someone please recommend a good food processor? Do I need a mega one or will the mini-prep suffice?

Laura, the doll is by "Baby Bottom." I couldn't find a site for the company, but you can buy it from http://www.tendertreasures.com/catalog/toys_and_gifts_for_children/baby_bottoms_dolls.html
(Natalie has the Hispanic girl version). I got it from a local store. The boy ones are super cute!

Do you have a babyfood cookbook? I have one that I bought when I found out I was pregnant with C. - if you want me to send it, I will. I won't need it for a while yet.

You probably don't need a cookbook - really, all it comes down to is pureeing everything you eat in the blender. Then making smaller servings of what you eat when Natalie gets bigger.

What I liked about the book is that is suggests an order of things to try... starting with the grain pablums, then pureed veggies and fruits, then pureed meats, etc.

Let me know via email and I will pop it in the mail!

I used my Cuisinart and my KitchenAid blender, depending on the food I was making.
